Resumen en español | Con el fin de entender las concepciones sobre el cuerpo femenino nahua, el artículo parte de tres evidencias ideológicas que construyen la imagen corporal de los seres humanos: 1. Diferencia anatómica y fisiológica de los cuerpos; 2. Vida/muerte, y 3. Sangre. En específico, las connotaciones en torno a las mujeres en estado liminar —menstruación, embarazo, parto y puerperio— se explican por la sangre femenil involucrada en los momentos de tránsito |
Resumen en inglés | To understand the conceptions about the feminine Nahua body, the article begins by explaining three ideological evidences that construct the corporal image of human beings. These evidences are: 1. The anatomical and physiological differences of the human bodies; 2. Life/ death, and 3. Blood. Specifically, the connotations with respect to women in the state of passage —menstruation, pregnancy, birth and puerperium—, are explained because of the feminine blood involved in the moments of transition |
