| Spanish abstract | Se analiza el uso de un software libre diseñado para simular los fenómenos relacionados con lentes delgadas. Se muestran las posibilidades del software se estudian los efectos de su aplicación en la enseñanza-aprendizaje del tema en estudiantes de la asignatura de Física I de la carrera de Ingeniería Química Industrial. Se compararon las calificaciones del examen correspondiente al tema en un grupo experimental, en donde se usó el software como apoyo, un grupo de control, en donde se siguieron las mismas estrategias que en el grupo experimental pero sin usar el software. Se aplicó una prueba estadística que arrojó una diferencia significativa entre las medias de las calificaciones de ambos grupos un cuestionario que recogió las opiniones de los estudiantes del grupo experimental |
| English abstract | It is analyzed the use of a free software designed to simulate the phenomena related to thin lenses. It shows the possibilities of the software and studied the effects of his application in teaching and learning of the topic in students of Physics I in the career of Chemical Engineering. There were compared the qualifications of the examination corresponding to the topic in an experimental group, where the software was used as support, and a group of control, where the same strategies followed that in the experimental group but without using the software. There was applied a statistical test that gave a significant difference between the averages of the qualifications of both groups and a questionnaire that gathered the opinions of the students of the experimental group |
