| Spanish abstract | La misión de la universidad establece que ésta debe cumplir una "función social" como institución educativa y realizar un "servicio público", lo que devela tres categorías fundamentales para el análisis: la universidad, lo público y la sociedad civil. A las categorías mencionadas las vincula su carácter deliberativo, siendo su eje la comunicación, el diálogo, la búsqueda del entendimiento y la adecuada coordinación de las acciones de interés general que en el ámbito universitario viabilizan la conformación de la sociedad civil y el fortalecimiento de la esfera pública. La universidad, debería ser, tal como lo propone Habermas, una auténtica "comunidad crítica", constituyéndose en espacio privilegiado para la búsqueda cooperativa del bien común y la formación de la opinión pública y la voluntad de los ciudadanos. Sin embargo, en este momento se interroga por el "quehacer" de la universidad en el ámbito de la ética y la moral, al detectar, entre otras, que se ha privilegiado lo que tiene que ver con la adquisición de conocimientos, más que la forma en que los sujetos capaces de lenguaje y acción hacen uso de ese conocimiento y, se ha dado la exclusión del entendimiento lingüístico como mecanismo de coordinación de la acción en detrimento de su carácter deliberativo. Esta reflexión sobre lo público y la sociedad civil en el contexto de la universidad contemporánea, se apoya en la Teoría de la Acción Comunicativa (HABERMAS) y en los desarrollos generados en nuestro país, como expresión de la Filosofía Práctica; asumida, ésta última, acorde con los planteamientos kantianos entorno a lo político, lo moral y lo ético, con miras al reconocimiento del "otro" en su diferencia, pero también en su complementariedad; con un claro sentido de la solidaridad como valor ético político de la sociedad moderna |
| English abstract | The mission of the university establishes that this one must fulfill a ìsocial functionî because it is an educational institution and gives a "public service", which reveals three fundamental categories for the analysis: the university, the public thing and the civil society. The previously mentioned categories are bounded by their deliberative aspects, being their axis the communication, the dialogue,the search ofthe understanding andthe suitable interaction of general interest that in the university scope to make viable the conformation of the civil society and the fortification of the public sphere. The university, would have to be, as Habermas proposes, an authentic "critical community", constituting it in a privileged space for the cooperative search of the communal property and the development of the public opinion and the will of the citizens. Nevertheless, atthis moment, the word ìtaskî questions the university in the scope of ethics and moral, when to detect, among others, that it has been privileged what has to do with the knowledge acquisition, more than the form in which the subjects that are able of using language and action make use of that knowledge and, the exclusion of the linguistic understanding like mechanism of interaction in damage of its deliberative aspect has occurred. This reflection on the public and the civil society in the context of the contemporary university is stated in the Theory of the Communicative Action (HABERMAS,) and inthe development generated in our country, as expression of the Practical Philosophy; assumed,this last one, agreedtothe kantísthoughts around the political, the moral and the ethical things, recognizing the ìotherî on his/her difference, but also on his/her complementarity; with a clear sense of solidarity as political ethical value of the modern society |
