| Spanish abstract | En la investigación educativa subyacen diversos sistemas de creencias, acerca de la realidad, de la relación del investigador con el objeto, y la manera de buscar el conocimiento, las cuales toman la forma de paradigmas. En este artículo, se describe como el paradigma positivista, pospositivista, teórico crítico y constructivista responden de diferentes maneras a preguntas de tipo ontológico, epistemológico y metodológico y las implicaciones que estos tienen en la práctica educativa. Se analiza desde una perspectiva crítica como estos paradigmas se reflejan en el currículum escolar, las metas educativas y en el rol del profesor como investigador. En las conclusiones se enfatiza la importancia de examinar, explorar, y reflexionar nuestras propias creencias acerca de la realidad, la función de la escuela, la investigación, el conocimiento, y el papel del profesor |
| English abstract | Educational practice is underlying by some basic beliefs about nature of reality, nature of the relationship between the knower and the known, and how should the inquirier go about finding out knowledge. This article describes how the positivistic, postpositivistic, critical theory and constructivistic paradigms respond in different way about ontological, epistemological and methodological questions, and which are their implications in the educational practice. From a critical perspective is analyzed how these paradigms are reflected upon the school curriculum, educational aims, and teacher role as researcher.
