| English abstract | Placing the focus of attention on well-being as a right in childhood continues to be a challenge in our society. In Cuba, children and adolescents are fully protected and there is great sensitivity towards this population. However, adult-centric practices still prevail, even when thinking about how to protect and enable well-being. This article talks about the importance of the paradigm shift in relation to the treatment of childhood and adolescence, supports it with scientific elements and makes recommendations for its implementation. |
| Spanish abstract | Colocar el foco de atención en el bienestar como derecho en la infancia, sigue siendo un reto en nuestra sociedad. En Cuba, niños y adolescentes son protegidos integralmente y existe una gran sensibilidad ante esta población. Sin embargo, aún prevalecen las prácticas adultocéntricas, incluso a la hora de pensar en cómo proteger y viabilizar el bienestar. Este artículo trata sobre la importancia del cambio de paradigma en relación con el tratamiento a la niñez y a la adolescencia, lo fundamenta con elementos científicos y realiza recomendaciones para su implementación. |
