| Spanish abstract | En 1979 el filósofo francés Jean-François Lyotard (Versalles 1924-París 1998) escribe La condición posmoderna, libro que tiene “por objeto la condición del saber en las sociedades más desarrolladas”. Cerca de treinta años después, en la circunstancia actual, su pensamiento sigue teniendo la más plena de las vigencias y los términos “posmodernidad”, “posmodernismo”, “posmoderno” son recitados en una amplia gama de discursos que se ocupan igual de los más variados saberes, inclusive, por supuesto, los del arte y la estética. En el presente artículo se sigue el pensamiento del filósofo francés en lo que tiene que ver con su estética y, más específicamente, con la estética de lo sublime, propia, según el autor, de los tiempos y del arte contemporáneos. | English abstract | In 1979, the French philosopher Jean-François Lyotard (Versailles 1924-Paris 1998) wrote The Postmodern Condition, a book that “achieves the status of knowledge in the most developed societies.” Nearly thirty years later, under current circumstances, his thinking still has the fullest of the validity, and the terms “postmodernity, “ “postmodernism, “”postmodern” are quoted in a wide range of discourses that deal with the most varied knowledge, including, of course, art and aesthetics. In this article, we follow the thinking of the French philosopher in regards of aesthetics and, more specifically, the aesthetics of the sublime, itself, according to the author, the aesthetics of the times and contemporary art.
