| English abstract | This article is the result of a comparative analysis of ethnographies published in the last two decades of the 20th century, based on anthropological research conducted in towns located in the Mexican states of Michoacán and Chiapas. The analysis here comprises a set of works selected from the extensive literature produced at that time. The result shows how anthropologists produced various versions of the idea of history and of the present arising from contrasting ethnographic perspectives |
