| Spanish abstract | Los alumnos hispanohablantes de portugués tienen problemas en descubrir la diferencia entre el uso del pretérito perfecto (PC) y el del pretérito simple (PS) (tenho feito/fiz) en esa lengua. El PC en portugués, a pesar de las afirmaciones acerca de que su uso es muy parecido al del español americano en general, tiene restricciones que limitan su empleo a situaciones durativos o iterativas en el pasado que llegan al momento del habla y lo incluyen. En este trabajo se expone en qué consisten las diferencias y en qué medida los alumnos, sólo expuestos al input natural, son capaces de detectar las diferentes reglas de uso y si la instrucción puede cambiar el resultado. El estudio fue hecho inicialmente con un instrumento de 40 reactivos aplicado a 110 alumnos hispanohablantes de portugués de todos los niveles. El seguimiento se hizo con dos grupos de cuarto nivel –avanzados medios- que recibieron instrucción explícita sobre el punto. Posteriormente fueron comparados con dos grupos de cuarto nivel de los primeros 110 alumnos, que no habían recibido la instrucción |
| English abstract | Spanish-speaking students of Portuguese have problems discovering the different use of the present perfect (PC) and simple past (PS) (tenho feito/fiz) in that language. The PC in Portuguese, in spite of declarations that its use is very similar to that of American Spanish in general, has constraints that limit its use to durative or iterative situations in the past that come up to and include the moment of speech. In this study, we look at what these differences are and if the students who only have had access to natural input are capable of discovering the different rules. The investigation was done initially with an instrument of 40 items which was applied to 110 Spanish-speaking students of Portuguese of all levels. A follow-up study was done with two groups of fourth level – medium advanced- which received explicit instruction on the point. They were compared with two groups of fourth level from the first 110 students, who had not received instruction |
