| Spanish abstract | Este artículo estudia la doctrina de las cuestiones políticas, desarrollada por la Corte Suprema de los Estados Unidos, con elfin de justificar su incompetencia para resolver determinadas materias, dada su naturaleza eminentemente política. El interés de esta doctrina estriba en el reconocimiento explícito de un ámbito vedado a la jurisdicción constitucional. En este sentido, se argumenta que esta doctrina refleja la naturaleza doble de la Constitución, jurídica y política, y, en consecuencia, la pluralidad de intérpretes constitucionales que coexisten, unos políticos y otros jurídicos |
| English abstract | This article is about the Political Questions Doctrine, a doctrine developed by the U.S. Supreme Court as a device to avoid deciding matters deemed ofpolitical nature. The interest ofthis doctrine lies in that it acknowledges afield excludedfrom judicialpower and entrusts it to the political departments ofgovernment. Ultimately, this doctrine reflects the twofold character ofthe Constitution: legal and political.
