English abstract The mountain represented a fundamental point of orientation in the surrounding landscape. It determined the limits of the world such as human beings conceive it and, with time, that geographic scenery was transformed into a space that concentrated esthetic and metaphorical values particularly when it transformed its geographic nature in order to obtain semantic and spiritual values. In this way, mountains become humanized first in order to first deify themselves as they sacralize themselves as points of sacred geography of the terrestrial plane. In the Mesoamerican context, the mountain had much importance in spatial representations in cultures that thought of the world basically in images. They formed a hierarchy and showed gender, embodied the people and also constituted an authentic articulating hub of the members of the community
