| Resumen en español | La montaña representaba un punto fundamental de orientación en el paisaje circundante, determinaba los límites del mundo tal como lo idea el ser humano y, con el tiempo, ese escenario geográfico se transformó en un espacio que concentraba valores estéticos y metafóricos, particularmente cuando transformó su naturaleza geográfica para adquirir valores semánticos espirituales. De esta manera, las montañas se humanizan en un primer momento, para deificarse conforme se sacralizan como puntos de la geografía sagrada del plano terrestre. En el contexto mesoamericano, la montaña tuvo importancia capital en las representaciones espaciales en culturas que pensaban el mundo básicamente en imágenes. Conformaban una jerarquía y revelaban género, encarnaban al pueblo y constituían, además, un auténtico eje articulador de los miembros de una comunidad |
| Resumen en inglés | The mountain represented a fundamental point of orientation in the surrounding landscape. It determined the limits of the world such as human beings conceive it and, with time, that geographic scenery was transformed into a space that concentrated esthetic and metaphorical values particularly when it transformed its geographic nature in order to obtain semantic and spiritual values. In this way, mountains become humanized first in order to first deify themselves as they sacralize themselves as points of sacred geography of the terrestrial plane. In the Mesoamerican context, the mountain had much importance in spatial representations in cultures that thought of the world basically in images. They formed a hierarchy and showed gender, embodied the people and also constituted an authentic articulating hub of the members of the community |
| Otro resumen | Berge stellten einen wichtigen Orientierungspunkt innerhalb der umliegenden Landschaft dar, markierten die Weltenden in der menschlichen Vorstellung und diese geograpische Szenerie verwandelte sich mit der Zeit in einen Raum, der ästhetische und metaphorische Werte konzentrierte, vor allem dann, wenn dieser Raum seine geographische Natur veränderte, um spirituelle, semantische Werte anzunehmen. Auf diese Weise werden die Berge zunächst einmal vermenschlicht, um sich dann im Zuge einer Sakralisierung als Punkte einer heiligen Geographie der Erdoberfläche zu vergöttlichen. Bei den mesoamerikanischen Kulturen, die die Welt vor allem bildlich erfassten, war der Berg von äuβerster Wichtigkeit für räumliche Darstellungen. Berge bildeten eine Hierarchie und bekamen ein Geschlecht, sie verkörperten das Volk und bildeten auβerdem eine authentische Artikulationsachse der Mitglieder einer Gemeinschaft |
