| Spanish abstract | P or lo menos desde que autores como Charles Baudelaire, Friedrich Nietzsche o Theodor W. Adorno evidenciaron su riqueza significante para la reflexión estética, filosófica y política, se ha vuelto un lugar común aludir al nombre de Stendhal cuando se piensa en la belleza como “promesa de felicidad”. Tomando principalmente las obras en las cuales Stendhal registró esta formulación, el si - guiente artículo explorará los distintos momentos que gravitaron en torno a dicha noción de belleza. A partir de la reconstrucción de esos momentos, que deno - minaremos “erótico-sensual”, “crítico-negativo” y “utópico”, trataremos de des - cubrir las conexiones mediante las cuales esta noción de belleza adquiere en Stendhal una impronta política notable. Según nuestro hilo conductor, estas conexiones se establecen mediante la potencialidad de lo bello de cuestionar otras esferas no estéticas de los asuntos humanos |
| English abstract | Since authors such as Charles Baudelaire, Friedrich Nietzsche and Theodor W. Adorno showed its significant importance to aesthetic-philosophical-political reflection, it has become a commonplace refering to Stendhal when beauty is thought as a “promise of happiness”. Considering mainly the works in which Stendhal registered this formulation, the following article will explore different moments that gravitated towards this notion of beauty. Starting from the recons - truction of those moments, which we call “erotic-sensual”, “critical-negative” and “utopian”, we will try to discover the connections from which Stendhal ́s notion of beauty acquires a significant political mark. According to our train of thought, these connections can be established by means of the potentiality of beauty to question other unaesthetic areas of human affairs |
