| Spanish abstract | Este trabajo trata de dilucidar si los docentes de un bachillerato mexicano perciben como una necesidad de su formación el conocer estrategias que les permitan enfrentar situaciones de desgaste profesional (burnout). Se incluye un marco teórico en donde se hace una revisión concisa de los términos necesidad y burnout, y se presenta una sección de material y métodos en donde se explica cómo se utilizó el Cuestionario de Necesidades Formativas del Profesorado de Bachillerato para investigar si los docentes percibían como una necesidad de su formación el conocer métodos y estrategias para enfrentar el desgaste profesional. Los resultados obtenidos revelan que los docentes declaran tener una necesidad sentida de recibir formación en este campo, al existir diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre la formación y la competencia docentes, referidas a la habilidad de los profesores para hacer frente a situaciones de desgaste profesional |
| English abstract | This work tries to find if High School teachers from a Mexican institution feel they have a need to be trained in strategies that will let them handle teacher burnout situations. A concise revision of the terms "need" and "burnout" is included, followed by a Methods section where the authors explain how they used the Formative needs survey for High school Teachers. This instrument was used to investigate if the teachers perceived they had a training need to know and implement strategies and methods to effectively face teacher burnout. The authors report statistically significant findings that point to the recognition by the teachers of a felt need of training in this field |
