| English abstract | The study of the lexicon of a certain geographic clipping allows the registration of the social and cultural heritage of a community and the linguistic heritage of its ancestors, which may or may not remain valid in the most current discourses. The objective of this work was to collect the largest number of idioms (EI) - preferably spoken and recognized by older citizens - in order to contribute to the preservation of the wealth and linguistic singularity of the Elói Mendes city ́s people. This study shows a way to keep alive and recorded a significant social and cultural heritage of the city, which only proves the mutability of the lexicon because of culture - this mutability is perceived in social interaction, which uses a set of words and expressions common to a particular language community |
| Portuguese abstract | O estudo do léxico de um determinado recorte geográfico possibilita o registro da herança sociocultural de uma comunidade e do patrimônio linguístico de seus antepassados, que podem ou não se manter vigentes nos discursos mais atuais. O objetivo deste trabalho foi colher o maior número de Expressões Idiomáticas (EI) – preferencialmente faladas e reconhecidas por cidadãos de idade mais avançada – a fim de contribuir para a preservação da riqueza e da singularidade linguística do povo eloiense. Esse estudo mostra uma maneira de manter viva e registrada parte da afortunada herança sociocultural do município, o que só faz comprovar a mutabilidade do léxico por causa da cultura – mutabilidade esta que é percebida na interação social, que se utiliza de um conjunto de palavras e expressões comuns a uma determinada comunidade linguística |
