| Spanish abstract | Es importante analizar la situación del desarrollo marítimo de Colombia durante el siglo XXI con el fin de determinar las fortalezas y debilidades que se han tenido con referencia a este tema que afecta significativamente el crecimiento económico, social y político del país. El método empleado fue de tipo descriptivo ya que se especificaron propiedades y características que impactan el desarrollo marítimo del país. Asimismo, se utilizaron diferentes fuentes de información como textos, manuales, noticias e información dispuesta en internet, con el fin de recopilar la mayor cantidad posible para un mejor análisis del aprovechamiento de los recursos marítimos del país. Los resultados reflejan la importancia de los océanos para Colombia por la biodiversidad y cantidad de recursos naturales. Para lo anterior, la Armada Nacional juega un rol determinante como garante de la formación y capacitación necesaria de sus miembros, y de la consecución de los medios para garantizar la defensa de los intereses marítimos del país |
| English abstract | It is important to analyze the situation of the maritime development of Colombia during the 21st century in order to determine the strengths and weaknesses that have been had with the reference to this issue that is related to the economic, social and political growth of the country. The method used was of a descriptive type that will specify properties and characteristics that impact the maritime development of the country. Likewise, different sources of information are used, such as texts, manuals, news and information on the Internet, in order to collect as much as possible for a better analysis of the use of the country’s maritime resources. The results of the importance of the oceans for Colombia for biodiversity and the quantity of natural resources. For this, the National Navy plays a decisive role as guarantor of the training and maintenance capacity of its members, and the achievement of the means to guarantee the defense of the maritime interests of the country |
