| Spanish abstract | La lengua náayeri y el español han estado en contacto por muchos siglos. Una consecuencia del contacto es la extensión del bilingüismo en las comunidades que reciben la influencia de la cultura que llega. Este contacto ha provocado una fuerte in-fluencia en la lengua náayeri. De manera general, las consecuencias del contacto lingüístico dependen no sólo de factores estructurales de la lengua, sino en gran medida de factores extralingüísticos, como la duración e intensidad del contacto cultu-ral, el papel y estatus de las lenguas partici-pantes, el grado de apoyo institucional otorgado a las lenguas en las diferentes eta-pas de su historia (por ejemplo la publica-ción y difusión de literatura en la lengua originaria), y de la actitud de los hablantes nativos hacia su propia lengua. | English abstract | The Náayeri (Cora) language and Spanish have been in contact for centuries. A consequence of this contact has been the spread of bilingualism in the communities that receive the influence of the culture that reaches them. This contact has pro-duced a strong influence on the Náayeri language. In general, the consequences of linguistic contact depend not only on structural factors of the language, but also to a large extent on extra-linguistic factors, such as the duration and intensity of cul-tural contact, the role and status of the participating languages, the degree of insti-tutional support granted to languages at different stages of their history (for example the publication and dissemination of liter-ature in the original language), and of the attitude of the native speakers toward their own language. These factors are analyzed in this article |
