| Resumen en inglés | Apapokúva is a dialect of Avá-Guarani (also called Nhandeva), Tupi-Guarani language family. The dialect, spoken in the Brazilian state of Paraná, was described fi rst by Nimuendajú when he published the ritual text of the Legends of the creation and destruction of the world. It contains the fi rst scientifi c analysis of a language which is poorly known today because the Avá are speaking a mixture of their own language, together with Mbyá and Paraguayan Guarani. It is therefore diffi cult to know which elements are authentical Avá. Nimuendajú’s description of the language makes possible a better knowledge of what is original Avá. Apapokúva as described by Nimuendajú will be analyzed here in a comparative perspective in order to allow structural relations with other Tupí-Guarani dialects, such as Paraguayan Guarani, Kaiowá, Mbyá, and Chaco Guarani (or Chiriguano) |
| Resumen en portugués | O apapokúva é um dialeto do avá-guarani (chamado também de nhandéva), família tupi-guarani, dialeto falado no estado do Paraná (Brasil). É a língua em que Nimuendajú anotou as lendas da criação e destruição do mundo dos apapokúva. A descrição da língua por Nimuendajú é a primeira análise científi ca da língua, uma língua que hoje apenas se conhece nos detalhes porque os avá atualmente falam uma mistura de avá, mbyá e guarani paraguaio. Por isso é muito difícil saber o que é próprio do avá. A língua descrita por Nimuendajú pode servir para um melhor conhecimento da língua avá original. O apapokúva de Nimuendajú será analisado em uma perspectiva comparativa, para vermos as relações estruturais com os outros dialetos guarani, o guarani paraguaio, kaiowá, mbyá e o guarani do Chaco ou chiriguano |
