Resumen en español Introduction: Procrastination is considered a fairly recurring behavior since ancient times, as people tend to postpone activities that are considered complex, not very motivating, stressful or that do not generate interest. Objective: To analyze academic procrastination in students from a private university in the Peruvian Amazon. Methods: The approach was quantitative, the design was non-experimental, and the type was descriptive and transactional. Academic procrastination was evaluated in 275 students of the Administration, Accounting, and Law careers by applying the Academic Procrastination Scale, an instrument with adequate psychometric properties.
