An investigation was developed with the objective of determining the increment of Zabrotes subfasciatus (Boh.) (Coleoptera; Bruchidae) in 3 varieties of grains of common bean. The eggs of Zabrotes subfasciatus was determined (Boheman) on the seeds of the three varieties in two generations, the percentage of seeds affected in three generations and the reduction of the weight of the seeds in the II generation All the bean varieties went susceptible to Z. subfasciatus, with total affectation in the third generation. In the first generation of the insect, they didn't exist lost appreciable in the weight of the grains, masked the lost of weight for the damage of few insects that it perforated the seeds. The losses in the 3 evaluated varieties went superior to 15.00% of the initial weight in the second generation |
