| Spanish abstract | Las investigaciones fueron realizadas en el laboratorio de Patología de Insectos del Centro de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (CIAP), de la Universidad Central de Las Villas, entre los meses de noviembre del 2009 a febrero del 2010. Se desarrolló una investigación con el objetivo de determinar el incremento de Zabrotes subfasciatus (Boh.) (Coleoptera; Bruchidae) en 3 variedades de granos de fríjol común. Las variedades de frijoles empleadas fueron Bat-304, Jaspeado y Velasco. Se determinó la ovoposición de Zabrotes subfasciatus (Boheman) sobre las semillas de las tres variedades en dos generaciones, el porcentaje de semillas afectadas en tres generaciones y la merma del peso de las semillas en la II generación Todas las variedades de frijol fueron susceptibles a Z. subfasciatus , con afectación total en la tercera generación. En la primera generación del insecto, no existieron perdidas apreciables en el peso de los granos, enmascarada la perdida de peso por el daño de pocos insectos que perforaron las semillas. Las pérdidas en las 3 variedades evaluadas fueron superiores al 15.00 % del peso inicial en la segunda generación |
| English abstract | The researches were carried out in the Pathology of Insects lab, of the Center of Agricultural Investigations (CIAP), of the Central University of Las Villas, among the months of November/ 2009 to February/ 2010. An investigation was developed with the objective of determining the increment of Zabrotes subfasciatus (Boh.) (Coleoptera; Bruchidae) in 3 varieties of grains of common bean. Las variedades de frijoles empleadas fueron Bat-304, Guama-23 y Velasco. The eggs of Zabrotes subfasciatus was determined (Boheman) on the seeds of the three varieties in two generations, the percentage of seeds affected in three generations and the reduction of the weight of the seeds in the II generation All the bean varieties went susceptible to Z. subfasciatus, with total affectation in the third generation. In the first generation of the insect, they didn't exist lost appreciable in the weight of the grains, masked the lost of weight for the damage of few insects that it perforated the seeds. The losses in the 3 evaluated varieties went superior to 15.00% of the initial weight in the second generation |
