| Spanish abstract | El mundo estaba en guerra o, por lo menos, el resto del mundo cuando nacimos. No quedaba claro contra quien peleaban, pero sí que el gran vencedor apuntaban a ser los EUA – cuna de la democracia y la libertad. Ese era el escenario mundial que nos aguardaba acompañado de la fecha fundamental para toda mi generación: 1959 y el triunfo de la Revolución Cubana. La foto de Fidel y sus compañeros, con sus barbas, sus uniformes verde olivo y sus fusiles, cambiaria para siempre mi generación. Hasta ese momento revolución era algo lejano, asiático: de Rusia, de China. La victoria representó la actualidad de la revolución en toda América Latina, que nunca más sería la misma desde entonces |
| English abstract | The world was at war or at least the rest of the world when we birth. It was not clear against whom they were fighting, but the big winner aims to be the U.S.A. – cradle of democracy and freedom. That was the world scenario that awaited us accompanied by the key date for all my generation: 1959 and the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. The photo of Fidel and his companions, with their beards, their olive green uniforms and rifles, would forever change my generation. Until then revolution was something distant, asian: from Russia, China. The victory represented the actuality of the revolution throughout Latin America that would never be the same since |
