| Spanish abstract | En este artículo se presenta el concepto de “Buen Vivir” (Sumak Kawsay) plasmado en la nueva Constitución del Ecuador, como proceso de construcción de contrahegemonía. Para ello, se analiza el desarrollo constitucional del concepto desde las perspectivas económica, social, cultural y ambiental. Luego se presentan los principales cuestionamientos a las implicaciones del Buen Vivir para el sistema económico generados desde la oposición política en la Asamblea Nacional Constituyente, lo que permite analizar el proceso de construcción contrahegemónica de este planteamiento y las profundas dimensiones del Buen Vivir para la construcción de una nueva epistemología y un proceso radical de cambio |
| English abstract | This article presents the concept of “Harmonious Coexistence” (Buen Vivir in Spanish or Sumak Kawsay in Kichwa) embodied in the new Constitution ofEcuador, as it envelops the process of building counter hegemony. Therefore, the concept as it develops within the Constitution is analyzed from the economic, social, cultural and environmental perspectives. Thenceforth the main queries regarding the implications of the concept of “living well” for the economic system are presented as they were argued by the opposition in the NationalConstitutionalAssembly.This allows us to analyze this approach to the process of building counter hegemony and the profound dimensions of “living well” in the construction of a new epistemology and the radical process of change |
