| English abstract | Introduction: the ability to recognize the existence of conflicts reflects the ability to discern if a situation generates dilemmas of moral and psychological content, an important skill for the student of Medical Sciences.Objective: to determine the bioethical sensitivity in students of Medical Sciences.Method: a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out in students of the Cuban Medical Sciences. The universe was constituted by all the students belonging to the ZoonTunas workshop and the sample by the 92 students who met the inclusion criteria.Results: the students belonged mostly to the Medicine career (85,6 %), to the second and third year (23,9 %) and to the General Surgery assistantship (11,9 %). The average detection was 9,1 (31,3 %); in autonomy 4,84 (34,5 %), in charity 3,5 (39 %) and in justice 0,77 (12,8 %). In the case of the major, Nursing had the best overall average (44,8 %). The academic year with the best average was first (10,37; 35,7 %). Regarding Autonomy and Beneficence, the highest score was accumulated by Nursing (6,67; 47,6 % and 5,33; 38,07 % respectively), Justice in Stomatology (1,1; 18,3 %).Conclusions: The results were not satisfactory; it is necessary to improve the preparation of students about the existence of a bioethical conflict. |
| Spanish abstract | Introducción: la habilidad de reconocer la existencia de conflictos refleja la capacidad de discernir si una situación genera dilemas de contenido moral y psicológico, habilidad importante en el estudiante de las Ciencias Médicas.Objetivo: determinar la sensibilidad bioética en estudiantes de las Ciencias Médicas.Método: se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal en estudiantes de las Ciencias Médicas de Cuba. El universo estuvo constituido por la totalidad de los estudiantes pertenecientes al taller ZoonTunas y la muestra por los 92 estudiantes que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión.Resultados: los estudiantes pertenecían mayormente a la carrera de Medicina (85,6 %), al segundo y tercer año (23,9 %) y a la ayudantía de Cirugía General (11,9 %). El promedio de detección fue 9,1 (31,3 %); en autonomía 4,84 (34,5 %), en beneficencia 3,5 (39 %) y en justicia 0,77 (12,8 %). En el caso de la carrera, tuvo mejor promedio general Enfermería (44,8 %). El año académico con mejor promedio fue primero (10,37; 35,7 %). En cuanto a Autonomía y Beneficencia la mayor puntuación fue acumulada por Enfermería (6,67; 47,6 % y 5,33; 38,07 % respectivamente), la Justicia en Estomatología (1,1; 18,3 %).Conclusiones: Los resultados no fueron satisfactorios; es necesario mejorar la preparación de los estudiantes sobre la existencia de un conflicto bioético. |
