| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo aborda la presencia hebrea en Cuba desde una perspectiva diferente: sociolingüística. Con una mirada interdisciplinaria se analiza el estado actual de las judeolenguas en la comunidad hebrea de Cuba, donde aún perviven en el léxico en uso vestigios. A partir del estudio de los contactos lingüísticos iniciales, complejísimos por la diversidad de orígenes de los grupos de inmigrantes y por tanto de las lenguas que traían consigo, el presente artículo examina los resultados de los contactos lingüísticos entre el judeoespañol o ladino y el yidish con el español. Además, destaca el valor que ha tenido la conservación del uso del hebreo en la liurgia como muestra de una tradición religiosa y cultural dentro de esta comunidad que da un elevado sentido a la palabra |
| English abstract | The present paper approchaes Hebrew presence in Cuba from a different pespective: sociolinguist. The present state of Hebrew languages in Cuba among the Jewish community, where there are still remnants of the spoken vocabulary, is analyzed by means of an interdisciplinary look. As to the study of the early linguistic contacts, very complex because of the diverse origin of groups of immigrants, and, thus, the languages they brought with them, the present paper explores the results of the linguístic contacts between Jewish-Spanish, or Ladin, and Yiddish and Spanish. Besides, the paper highlights the value conservation and usage of Hebrew language has had in liturgy, as proof of the religious and cultural tradition within this community, which bestows and elevated sense to word |
