| Spanish abstract | La obra histórica de Alfredo Breceda sigue en penumbras. La historiografía de la Revolución mexicana, de antaño y también la contemporánea, lo ha desconsiderado, junto a otros tantos testimonios de hombres, mujeres y niños, protagonistas todos –a su manera– de la experiencia revolucionaria. México revolucionario, su obra más conocida, es un logrado intento por construir una historia política objetiva y documentada de los primeros años de la Revolución y la etapa denominada Constitucionalista. Sin desconocer su partidismo por la figura y obra de Venustiano Carranza, en esta primera etapa de la revolución, su testimonio buscaba sobreponerse a las pasiones que lo embargaban, y superar sus parcialidades hacia la facción revolucionaria a la que perteneció. Separado por un lapso de 20 años, entre la publicación del tomo I (1920) y tomo II (1941), su trabajo testimonial es un recorrido por los principales eventos militares, legislativos, diplomáticos y gubernativos de los líderes revolucionarios |
| English abstract | The historical work of Alfredo Breceda remains unrecognized. The yore and contemporary Mexican revolution historiography has not taken him and many others into account. Altogether men, women and children who witnessed the Mexican revolution war remain unknown. Mexico revolucionario, his masterpiece, it is an attempt to show an objective and well presented political history of the early years of the Mexican revolution as well as the beginnings of the first constitutionalist stage. Despite he was Venustiano Carranza follower, he attempted to avoid and overcome the influences that made him to be less objective and unfair in his historical testimony. The first volume was published in 1920, and the second one in 1941, that's why his books clearly shows a tour of the main military, diplomatic and gubernatorial events of the revolutionary leaders |
