| Spanish abstract | En sus relecciones, Vitoria cuestiona la instrumentalización y los títulos de dominio que algunos españoles decían poseer sobre las Indias, por lo que hace una justificación ontológica apoyada en una investigación antropológica sobre las relaciones entre los hombres y entre los pueblos, para así superar la presunta es-clavitud natural y trato instrumental sobre los nativos que obscurece la dignidad y libertad trascendental humanas, por un lado, así como sentar los argumentos morales que posteriormente resolverían el problema de la esclavitud legal, por el otro.
