| Spanish abstract | En las áreas urbanas prevalecen condiciones desfavorables para la calidad de vida de las personas. Sin embargo, dichas condiciones no conducen necesariamente a acciones colectivas o a la movilización social. Como un ejemplo de este contexto, se analiza el caso del área periurbana de Cuauhtepec, ubicada en el norte de la Ciudad de México. El análisis se estructura a partir del concepto de paisaje y con base en datos cuantitativos y cualitativos. A pesar de los problemas socio-ambientales de este poblado, prácticamente no hay redes comunitarias para enfrentarlos. Para dar cuenta de esta compleja problemática, se acuñó el término precariedad paisajística. Se sugiere que la formación de redes sociales es clave para incentivar acciones colectivas que contribuyan a mejorar el paisaje y la calidad de vida de quienes habitan en esa zona |
| English abstract | In urban areas, unfavorable conditions prevail for the quality of people's life. However, these conditions do not necessarily lead to collective actions or social mobilization. As an example of this context, is to analyze of the surrounding areas of the town of Cuauhtepec, located to the north of Mexico City. The analysis is structured from the concept of landscape and based on quantitative and qualitative data. Despite the socio-environmental problems of this town, there are practically no community networks to face them. To account for this complex problem, the term landscape precariousness was coined. It is suggested that the formation of social networks is key to encourage collective actions that contribute to improving the land¬scape and the quality of life of those who live in that area |
