| English abstract | This paper aims to interweave the history of the ports of Buenos Aires to the construction of Argentina as a nation, inserting itself in the capitalist globalization. Buenos Aires Urba-Port history reveals more than, how and where the loading / unloading process was carried out, can provide evidence of how the Capitalist Imperialism motivated the second Industrial Revolution to overcome the Great Depression at the center of the system, expanding the borders of capital. The engineer Huergo and the businessman Madero appear like great agents in that process, but other forces were the engines of the quantitative expansion of production, circulation, financing, population, etc., and the qualitative transformation of the port operation in Buenos Aires |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo tem como objetivo entrelaçar a história dos portos de Buenos Aires à própria construção da Argentina como nação, inserindo-se na mundialização capitalista. A História Urbano-Portuária porteña revela mais do que, como e aonde era efetuado o processo de carga/descarga, pode demonstrar como o Imperialismo Capitalista motivou a Segunda Revolução Industrial para superar a Grande Depressão no centro do sistema, alargando as fronteiras do capital. O engenheiro Huergo e o empresário Madero aparecem como grandes agentes nesse processo, mas outras forças foram motoras da expansão quantitativa da produção, circulação, financiamento, população, etc. e da transformação qualitativa da operação portuária em Buenos Aires |
