| English abstract | This article offers an investigation of the verbal interactions between students and the teacher’s role in a Literary Awareness workshop. The objective is to observe which power relations are established in this context. More specifically, the interaction between six students were observed during the creation of poems. The method used here was the qualitative in nature, once the focus is on the interaction. Analysis is based on the theories of Linnel and Luckmann (1991), Tannen and Wallat (1998), Goffman (1998), among others. The results indicate that the teacher in a Literary Awareness workshop actually acts as a mediator and promotes students’ reflection during the activity |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo oferece uma investigação empírica das interações verbais de alunos e o papel do professor em uma oficina de Conscientização Literária (CL), a fim de observar que relações de poder se estabelecem neste contexto. Mais especificamente, descrevem-se as interações de seis alunos durante a construção de poemas. O método de análise é qualitativo, uma vez que o foco está na interação. As análises têm como base as teorias de Linnel e Luckmann (1991), Tannen e Wallat (1998), Goffman (1998), entre outros. Os resultados apontam que o professor em uma oficina de CL efetivamente age como mediador e promove a reflexão dos alunos no decorrer da atividade |
