| English abstract | This work has the purpose of showing how the language can be used to represent experiences of/in the real world. To do that, theoretical presupposition of the Systemic-Functional Grammar, based on Halliday & Matthiessen (2004), are used concerning the experimental function of the language. The qualitative type analysis consists of the description of the transitivity components (process, participants and circumstances) that comprise the text clauses, and consists in the verification of the way in which the language is used to represent places, things, people or phenomenon. To illustrate the analysis, it was selected a text that circulates on the Internet which has the status of an advising message. The strategy proposed allows a perceptive reading of the texts, whose interpretation is authorized by the linguistic elements chosen by the user of the language system |
| Portuguese abstract | Este trabalho tem por propósito mostrar como a linguagem pode ser usada para represen- tar experiências do/no mundo real. Para isso, são utilizados pressupostos teóricos da Gramática Sistêmico-Funcional, em Halliday e Matthiessen (2004) referentes à função experiencial da linguagem. A análise, do tipo qualitativa, consiste na descrição dos componentes da transitividade (processos, participantes e circunstâncias) que constituem as orações do texto, e na verificação do modo como a linguagem é usada para representar lugares, coisas, pessoas ou fenômenos. Para ilustrar a análise, selecionou-se um texto que circula em correntes na Internet e que tem o status de mensagens de aconselhamento. A sistemática proposta possibilita uma leitura criteriosa dos textos, cuja interpretação é autorizada pelos elementos lingüísticos escolhidos pelo usuário do sistema da língua |
