| English abstract | The work of the historian involves at least three elements: methodology, sources and narrative. Initially approaching some historiographical aspects on which theoretical positions were briefly pointed out such as the positivism, the Marxism and the Annales School, the present article turns to the problematic of the use of sources by the historian, particularly the use of newspapers as source, with the necessary care in the use of a type of material created initially to inform, according to the proper journalistic language. Therefore, the use of sources, as newspaper, presented here, considers the historiographical development, and brings suggestions and cares in the procedures of the research |
| Portuguese abstract | Abordando inicialmente alguns aspectos historiográficos acerca dos quais foram pontuadas brevemente posições teóricas como o positivismo, o marxismo e a Escola de Annales, o presente artigo volta-se para a problemática do uso das fontes pelo historiador e particularmente de periódicos como fontes, com o cuidado necessário na utilização de um tipo de material criado inicialmente para informar, dentro da linguagem própria do jornalismo. Portanto, o uso de fontes, como periódicos, apresentado aqui, considera o desenvolvimento historiográfico, e traz sugestões e cuidados nos procedimentos de pesquisa |
