| English abstract | In this interview with Luc Boltanski and Arnaud Esquerre, we shall approach the last two oeuvres that they wrote together, namely Vers l’Extrême and Enrichissement. Held during the 19th Congress of the Brazilian Sociological Society, in 2019, the interview begins by discussing the preparation of Enrichissement, highlighting how their authors gradually conceived the so-called “economies of enrichment” as object, as well as the methodological challenges that had to be faced in doing so. Following that, the authors are asked about changes and permanencies that this oeuvre establishes in relation to their previous works, given the historical transformations analyzed in The new spirit of capitalism and the discussion about relationships between sociology and social critique forged in De la critique. Finally, the interview moves towards imbrications between the new patrimonial class - formed within the economy of enrichment - and the political conservatism emerging from the extreme right and its growing electoral success |
| Portuguese abstract | Na presente entrevista com Luc Boltanski e Arnaud Esquerre, abordam-se as duas últimas obras que escreveram em coautoria, nomeadamente Vers l’extrême e Enrichissement. Realizada por ocasião do XIX Congresso da Sociedade Brasileira de Sociologia, em 2019, a entrevista se inicia discutindo a elaboração do Enrichissement, destacando como seus autores foram gradualmente constituindo as chamadas “economias do enriquecimento” como objeto, assim como os desafios metodológicos que tiveram de ser encarados para tanto. Depois, os autores são interpelados quanto às mudanças e permanências que a obra estabelece ante os seus trabalhos anteriores, haja vista as transformações históricas analisadas em O novo espírito do capitalismo e a discussão acerca das relações entre sociologia e crítica social forjadas em De la critique. Por fim, a entrevista avança em direção às imbricações entre a nova classe patrimonial - formada no seio da economia do enriquecimento - e o conservadorismo político despontado pela extrema direita com crescente sucesso eleitoral |
