| Spanish abstract | Una examinación del diferencial semántico (DS), una técnica de medición del significado y espacio universal psicológico, es el propósito de este ensayo. Su importancia se atribuye a la posibilidad de demostrar que las personas sitúan sus opiniones en tres factores del espacio semántico, denominados evaluación, potencia y actividad. En ese sentido, el rescate de las manifestaciones discursivas de subjetividad en el contexto de la medición del significado, ha constituido el inicio de investigaciones enfocadas en la naturaleza del discurso público como parte de la historia científica de la sociolingüística desde mediados del siglo XX |
| English abstract | An examination of the semantic differential (DS), a technique for measuring meaning and universal psychological space, is the purpose of this work. Its importance is attributed to the possibility of demonstrating that people situate their opinions in three factors of semantic space, denominated evaluation, potency and activity. In that sense, the retrieval of discursive manifestations of subjectivity in the context of the measurement of meaning has constituted the beginning of investigations focused on the nature of public discourse as part of the scientific history of sociolinguistics since the middle of the twentieth century |
