| Spanish abstract | A partir del texto teatral de Esquilo, La Orestíada, Reinaldo Maia hace su propia adaptación, y logra actualizar esta obra del periodo clásico al mostrar la situación política e histórica vigente en Brasil y Latinoamérica. Los dioses sanguinarios, crueles y vengativos de la época helénica son los mismos que devastan la América contemporánea: grupos económicos, políticos y financieros con fuerte dominio que aún siguen explotando y lacerando a Latinoamérica desde la época de la Conquista. La puesta en escena se apoya en textos musicales y visuales que llevan al espectador al momento en que se gestaron, y así logran una mayor significación. El vestuario, afín al «arte povera», cumple no sólo una función práctica, sino también estética. Un fuerte compromiso social va de la mano con el recorrido del Folias d’Arte de São Paulo |
| English abstract | Starting from a play of the ancient Greece, Reinaldo Maia makes his own adaptation. He updates this play and places it at the same time of the political and historical situation that is in use in Brazil and Latin America. The bloodthirsty, cruel and vengeful gods of the Hellenic age are the same that devastate contemporary America: economic, political and financial groups, with a big power, are exploiting and lacerating still Latin America since the age of Conquest. The staging leans on musical and visual texts that take the audience to the moment of their gestation; and so they achieve more significance. The costumes, close to the «povera art», carry out a practical and aesthetic function. The route of the Folias d’Arte de São Paulo involves a strong social commitment |
