| English abstract | Paulo Freire was an educator who enabled a reformulation of educational practices, which were not confined to the space of schools, and take part in other contexts of society. His work is considered political because it makes the man reflects about his condition and reality, and so it was intensively studied by various professionals, including health professionals, facing a modern society with old and new problems. Thus, we propose a dialogue between the ideas of Paulo Freire and the situation of health and health education in Brazil, and the contributions of the author to health education |
| Portuguese abstract | Paulo Freire foi um educador que possibilitou uma reformulação das práticas educativas, que passaram a não se limitar mais ao espaço das escolas, e fazer parte de outros contextos da sociedade. Sua obra é considerada de caráter politico, pois faz o homem refletir sobre sua condição e realidade, e por isso, foi intensamente estudada por diferentes profissionais, inclusive os da saúde, em que a sociedade atual apresenta antigos e novos problemas. Dessa forma, propõe-se um diálogo entre as ideias de Paulo Freire e a situação da saúde e da educação em saúde no Brasil, e as contribuições do autor para a educação em saúde |
