English abstract | The Continued Benefit is a federal government income transfer program for the elderly and the disabled who have monthly family income per capita is less than one fourth (¼) of minimum wage. This study was quantitative in nature and aimed to identify users Continued Benefit and its territorial location in a city in southern Brazil. In consulting the website of the Ministry of Social Development variables were collected: age, address, gender, belonging to social assistance center of reference and type of benefit, analyzed through tables and generated thematic maps of the city using GIS technique. The sample consisted of 2036 beneficiaries, of which 55.9% were disabled, elderly 39.4% and 4.7% had a monthly income for life. The study is presented as a contribution to the planning and management of the service which is the decision-making in the implementation of the Single Social Assistance System |
Portuguese abstract | O Benefício de Prestação Continuada é um programa de transferência de renda do governo federal destinado ao idoso e a pessoa com deficiência que apresentam renda mensal familiar per capita inferior a ¼ (um quarto) de salário mínimo. O presente estudo foi de natureza quantitativa e teve como objetivo identificar os usuários do Benefício de Prestação Continuada e sua localização territorial em um município no Sul do Brasil. Em consulta ao site do Ministério do Desenvolvimento Social foram coletadas as variáveis: idade, endereço, sexo, centro de referência da assistência social pertencente e tipo de benefício, analisados por meio de tabelas e gerado mapas temáticos do município utilizando a técnica de geoprocessamento. A amostra foi composta por 2036 beneficiários, dos quais 55,9% eram deficientes, 39,4% idosos e 4,7% possuíam renda mensal vitalícia. O estudo apresenta-se como uma contribuição no planejamento e gestão do serviço que é a tomada de decisão na concretização do Sistema Único da Assistência Social |
