| English abstract | The research on the impacts of the conventional agriculture in the rural worker's health for the use of pesticides is an extreme importance area of investigation and still incipient in Brazil. Therefore, this work intends to evaluate the impacts caused to the rural worker's health, current of the conventional agriculture, way of agricultural production quite used in the Baraúna municipal district, west area of Rio Grande do Norte state. As methodological procedure was adopted the case study, being used of the bibliographical and documental research, questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The data were systematized and analyzed, with base in the descriptive statistics, making a comparison between the theory and the empiric base of the research. The conclusions of this work indicate the use of pesticides for the same rural workers tends knowledge of the risks and damages to the health and the environment. Projects of Environmental Education and Agroecology could be subsidies for thinking, to feel and to act in a new agriculture form, with reduced impacts to the health and the environment |
| Portuguese abstract | A pesquisa sobre os impactos da agricultura convencional na saúde do trabalhador rural pelo uso de agrotóxicos é uma área de investigação de extrema importância e ainda incipiente no Brasil. Portanto, este trabalho pretende avaliar os impactos causados à saúde do trabalhador rural, decorrentes da agricultura convencional, modo de produção agrícola bastante utilizado no município de Baraúna, Região Oeste do Rio Grande do Norte. Como procedimento metodológico adotou-se o estudo de caso, utilizando-se da pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, questionários e entrevistas semi-estruturadas. Os dados foram sistematizados e analisados, com base na estatística descritiva, fazendo um cotejamento entre a teoria e a base empírica da pesquisa. As conclusões deste trabalho indicam a utilização de agrotóxicos pelos trabalhadores rurais mesmo tendo conhecimento dos riscos e danos à saúde e ao meio ambiente. Projetos de Educação Ambiental e Agroecologia poderiam ser subsídios para o pensar, sentir e agir em uma nova forma de agricultura, com reduzidos impactos à saúde e ao meio ambiente |
