| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo pretende realizar un análisis comparativo entre la protección de las víctimas de trata y la protección de las personas en necesidad de protección internacional. La trata, cuyo objetivo es obtener una ganancia económica mediante la explotación de seres humanos, está prohibida por el derecho internacional, y los Estados tienen la responsabilidad de combatirla y proteger y asistir a las víctimas. La relación entre la trata y la migración hace de la trata un fenómeno aprovechado por los tratantes para desarrollar nuevas formas de reclutamiento, sobre personas que viven los efectos del desarraigo, la discriminación y xenofobia en contextos que le son ajenos, haciendo de las personas en necesidad de protección internacional lo más vulnerables |
| English abstract | This article focuses a comparative analysis between the protection of victims of human trafficking and the protection of persons in need of international protection. Trafficking, the objective of which is to make an economic profit through the exploitation of human beings, is prohibited by international law, and States have a responsibility to combat it and to protect and assist victims. The relationship between trafficking and migration makes trafficking a phenomenon exploited by traffickers to develop new forms of recruitment, about people who experience the effects of uprooting, discrimination and xenophobia in contexts that are alien to them, making people in need for international protection the most vulnerable |
