| Spanish abstract | Durante el mes de octubre de 1780, entre los días 12 y 14, el conocido huracán San Calixto II, llamado también El Gran Huracán de las Antillas, que fue desastroso principalmente en el grupo de archipiélagos de menor tamaño ubicados en la parte oriental del mar Caribe, causó daños en algunas regiones de la Capitanía General de Venezuela.
