| Spanish abstract | Los algoritmos genéticos tienen su base en la teoría de supervivencia de las especies de Darwin. Estos algoritmos han sido usados satisfactoriamente en genética y recientemente en una variedad de problemas de optimización en el campo de la ingeniería estructural. Procesos estocásticos generan una población inicial de individuos, entonces se aplican los principios de selección natural del más apto para mejorar los diseños, con base en restricciones dadas. | English abstract | The genetic algorithms have their base in the theory of survival of Darwin’s species. These algorithms have been used satisfactorily in genetic and recently in a variety of problems of optimization in the field of the structural engineering.
