| English abstract | The article pretend to deepen the authority of John de Baptists and Jesus. It’s pointed out the relation between John and Jesus and their mission towards the service of the kingdom. John recognized Jesus like the most powerful who baptized with the most effective baptism. Jesus recognized the authority of John, and approved his mission like something that comes from God. The analogies between Jesus and John justified their divine mission. John a prophet who prepared the people and Jesus, who announced the coming of the kingdom. The accomplishment of all justice is the mission of Jesus and John. In the exercise of their power in the form of service, John and Jesus also revealed the closeness of the kingdom and the conditions to enter into it |
| Portuguese abstract | O artigo aborda o tema da autoridade de João Batista e de Jesus. Acentua-se a questão da relação de João com Jesus e a missão a serviço do reino. João reconhece Jesus como o mais forte, que batizará com um batismo mais eficaz. Jesus reconheceu a autoridade de João e aprovou sua missão como vinda de Deus. As analogias entre eles justificam a sua missão divina: João como profeta que prepara o povo e Jesus como o que anuncia a chegada do reino. O cumprimento de toda a justiça é a missão que os une. No exercício do poder como serviço, João e Jesus também revelam a proximidade do reino e as condições para nele entrar |
