| Spanish abstract | El escenario climático actual exige que los y las estudiantes desempeñen un papel activo frente al mismo, para lo cual se requiere su correcta alfabetización al respecto. Nuestro objetivo general ha sido determinar el conocimiento y las acciones del alumnado al finalizar la etapa de educación primaria, en torno a este fenómeno, sus causas y consecuencias. Se realizó una encuesta a 104 estudiantes de cuatro centros educativos de La Rioja (España). Entre los resultados obtenidos cabe destacar que el alumnado tiene dificultades para describir el cambio climático e identificar sus causas y consecuencias, muestra confusión con otros problemas ambientales y presta escasa atención a aspectos locales y, especialmente, al componente social. Asimismo, muestra un escaso compromiso con la actualidad climática y un insuficiente desarrollo de acciones contra el cambio climático en su vida cotidiana |
| English abstract | The current climate scenario needs students to play an active role, which in turn requires them to be environmentally literate. Our general objective has been to determine students' knowledge and actions related to the climate crisis, its causes, and its consequences, upon completion of their elementary education. A survey was completed by 104 students in four schools of La Rioja (Spain). The results underline that students experience difficulties in describing climate change and identifying its causes and consequences, confuse climate change with other environmental problems, and pay little attention to local aspects, in particular the social component. They also show limited commitment to the current climate situation and insufficient participation in actions against climate change in their daily life |
