English abstract | The objective of this paper is to problematize the scientific knowledge from a sociological perspective applying the approach of Niklas Luhmann’ General Theory of Social Systems. Particularly, we analyze the construction form of scientific knowledge on HIV/AIDS as a product of the scientific functional system and we analyze the implications of using concepts such as distinction, system/environment, autopoiesis, differentiation and structural coupling for the observation and construction of a scientific fact. This led us to a discussion with traditional proposals of the social studies of science and their theoretical presuppositions |
