| English abstract | Critical thinking is the basis for all students, regardless of educational level, to be able to build their own conclusions based on the analysis of the information received and contrasting it with their own criteria and knowledge. The objective of this work was to analyze the impact of critical thinking on the educational results of students enrolled in the specialty of Electrical Mechanical Engineering, which is one of the careers offered by the José Carlos Mariátegui University, in the city of Moquegua, Peru. The methodology used corresponds to non-experimental research, with a quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive correlational approach. The study included 520 students, of which 65 participants were randomly selected and 2 instruments were used, these were a questionnaire that had 30 items and was applied in order to measure the levels of critical thinking, and, on the other hand, the assessment scale made up of 20 questions, which allowed the measurement of the learning variable. The significance of the chi-square test yielded a value of 0.039 less than 0.05 and these results indicated that there is a significant relationship between student learning and critical thinking. |
| Spanish abstract | El pensamiento crítico resulta la base para que todo estudiante, independientemente del nivel educativo, sea capaz de construir sus propias conclusiones en base al análisis de la información recibida y contrastándola con sus propios criterios y saberes. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar el impacto del pensamiento crítico en los resultados educativos de los alumnos matriculados en la especialidad de Ingeniería Mecánica Eléctrica, que es una de las carreras que oferta la Universidad José Carlos Mariátegui, de la ciudad de Moquegua, Perú. La Metodología empleada corresponde a una investigación no experimental, con un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo transversal y descriptivo correlacional. El estudio incluyó a 520 estudiantes, de los cuales fueron elegidos de forma aleatoria 65 participantes y se utilizaron 2 instrumentos, siendo estos un cuestionario que contaba con 30 ítems y que fue aplicado con la finalidad de medir los niveles de pensamiento crítico, y, por otro lado, la escala de valoración conformada por 20 preguntas, que permitieron medir la variable aprendizaje. La significancia de la prueba de chi-cuadrado arrojó un valor de 0.039 menor a 0.05 y estos resultados obtenidos indicaron que entre el aprendizaje de los estudiantes y el pensamiento crítico existe una relación significativa. |
