| English abstract | The research on the school garden in the CECIB Murushi, focused on investigating the activities developed by the educational community in order to improve the quality of food with the products of the area and reduce chronic malnutrition in the population. It is important to point out the benefits of having a school garden – shuar aja; Among them is the ease of having nutritious and chemical-free food, the enthusiasm of students to learn the cultivation of different products and carry out the whole process. The experience of the process shows us that the revaluation of their own ways of life, knowledge and language in everyday use, strengthens the self-esteem of women, their families and the collective. Also, the difficulties that arise for the elaboration of the project were analyzed, being mainly the lack of support from other teachers, the difficulties of transportation and the lack of time to not have incorporated this activity within the academic curriculum. In addition, the process involved in the selection of the seed, its cultivation and harvest, for the Shuar culture was analyzed. The project was carried out with the support of teachers, students and the community. |
| Spanish abstract | La investigación sobre el huerto escolar en el CECIB Murushi, se centró investigar las actividades que desarrolla la comunidad educativa con la finalidad de mejorar la calidad de alimentación con los productos de la zona y reducir la desnutrición crónica en la población. Es importante señalar las bondades que brinda contar con un huerto escolar – shuar aja; entre ellos es la facilidad de disponer de alimentos nutritivos y libre de químicos, el entusiasmo de los estudiantes por aprender el cultivo de diferentes productos y realizar todo el proceso. La experiencia del proceso nos muestra que la revaloración de las formas de vida propia, saberes e idioma en el uso cotidiano, fortalece la autoestima de las mujeres, sus familias y el colectivo. También, se analizaron las dificultades que se presentan para la elaboración del proyecto, siendo principalmente la falta de apoyo por parte de otros profesores, las dificultades de transporte y la falta de tiempo al no tener incorporada esta actividad dentro del pensum académico. Además, se analizó el proceso que conlleva la selección de la semilla, su cultivo y la cosecha, para la cultura Shuar. El proyecto se llevó a cabo con el apoyo de profesores, estudiantes y la comunidad. |
