| English abstract | A quasi-experimental study of therapeutic intervention uncontrolled type was performed in order to assess the immunological response to antiretroviral therapy in patients with the diagnosis of the disease that initiated antiretroviral therapy, at the Hospital "Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso "in Santiago de Cuba, from March to May 2014, besides evaluation before the start and after nine months of therapy. The universe was 31 patients with the criterion of beginning such treatment either clinical or immunologic. The variables were: clinical stage, sex, treatment regimen, CD4, viral load, immune response. AIDS cases not prevailed at the beginning of the investigation. It was applied after antiretroviral therapy and was found relevant immune response because most of the patients had excellent and good response. At 9 months of therapy decreased the viral load to undetectable. Antiretroviral therapy produced a significant immune response. |
| Spanish abstract | Se realizó un estudio cuasiexperimental de tipo intervención terapéutica no controlado con el objetivo de evaluar la respuesta inmunológica al tratamiento antirretroviral, en pacientes con el diagnóstico de dicha enfermedad que iniciaron terapia antirretroviral, con seguimiento en el Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico "Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" de Santiago de Cuba, en los meses de marzo a mayo de 2014 y evaluación antes del inicio y a los nueve meses de la terapia. El universo fue de 31 pacientes con el criterio de inicio de dicho tratamiento ya fuera clínico o inmunológico. Las variables fueron: fase clínica, sexo, esquema de tratamiento, CD4, carga viral, respuesta inmunológica. Predominaron los casos no sida al inicio de la investigación. Tras aplicada la terapia antirretroviral se encontró respuesta inmunológica relevante pues la mayoría de los pacientes tuvo respuesta Excelente y Buena. A los 9 meses de la terapia disminuyó la carga viral a la indetectabilidad. La terapia antirretroviral produjo una respuesta inmunológica relevante. |
