Spanish abstract Revisando los conceptos sobre Prospectiva es posible definirla como la exploración y construcción del devenir de un sistema social complejo, y se menciona que la Prospectiva no es una utopía que no conduce a visiones de tipo utópico, sin embargo, si bien la utopía puede ser identificada con lo irrealizable, con el espacio de lo imposible, también puede interpretarse como “posibilidad”, misma que conduce a la creación de lo nuevo, aquello que todavía no existe, pero que es posible y que tiene fundamento en la realidad y que por esa razón puede ser creado en el futuro. En este sentido, resulta necesario analizar y clarificar el significado y relación de la Utopía dentro del ámbito de la Prospectiva, lo cual constituye el objetivo del presente trabajo
English abstract Prospective is defined as the exploration and construction of the future of a complex social system, it is not the same as utopia, and does not lead to utopian visions, however, while utopia is identified with the unrealizable, with space for the impossible, it can also be interpreted as “possibility”, it leads to the creation of the new, that which does not yet exist, but it is possible and has it´s basis in reality and for that reason can be created in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and clarify the meaning and value of Utopia within the scope of Prospective, which is the objective of this work
