| English abstract | The greater schools played an outstanding role at the colonial time, because from their ex-alumni, the yearnings of opening of the university classrooms in the city of Guatemala and later in the rest of their provinces were constituted. Some of which had universities until the first decades of the independent period. In the case of Leon, Nicaragua, this one was the second university that was based in the year of 1812, after the one of Guatemala, whereas in Honduras, its university was founded until half of the XIX century in the city of Tegucigalpa, thanks to the managements made by the Presbyter Jose Trinidad Reyes and a group of friends who helped him enormously. Initially the Sociedad del Genio Emprendedor del Buen Gusto conceived by former Honduran young students of the University of Leon, Nicaragua, was based. They were: Máximo Soto, Alejandro Flores, Miguel Antonio Rovelo, Yanuario Girón and Pedro Chirinos, who created, in the best possible way, the corresponding rules until obtaining its establishment in Tegucigalpa in December 14, 1845. Its first chancellor was the father Jose Trinidad Reyes, becoming soon after the cornerstone of the Maxim House of Studies of Honduras. Throughout the years, the Nacional University, started developing gradually. In 1957, it obtained its yearned autonomy, which allowed it to increase, even more, its conditions of development through its own administration. Despite in the last years, there have been on the part of the Government and of some sectors, some movements against its autonomy, specially because of some aspects of administrative-academic backward that caused that in December of the last year a new law was emitted on the part of the Honorable National Congress that reforms it, and it is hoped that it places it in a different frame that tends towards its own progress or development from this year |
