| Spanish abstract | Las Universidades del presente siglo están enfrentándose a retos nunca antes imaginados por la humanidad: La pérdida de valores de los jóvenes universitarios es el más vivo reflejo de la pérdida de valores en el entorno societal. La manera cómo las instituciones educativas enfrentan este problema, considerado estructural en el presente artículo, les podría proporcionar no solo pertinencia en cuanto a las respuestas que pueda dar a los fines de preservar la moral en el ámbito interno, sino que le permitiría ganar espacios perdidos en el fragor de las luchas protagonizadas por el individualismo, con pretensiones reduccionistas, en su confrontación al colectivismo omniabarcante, con aspiraciones asfixiantes por totalitarias. Ambos extremos se asoman como las razones por las cuales la humanidad del presente no logra restablecer el proyecto civilizador que desde la Modernidad se instauró como la solución a los graves problemas éticos y morales de la sociedad. Es por ello que en el presente artículo, se considera la filosofía de la acción que caracteriza la vida universitaria contemporánea como el vaso comunicante de una ética que permea los entramados institucionales de las Universidades, por lo cual las concepciones éticas juegan un rol de importancia y de preponderancia en la conformación de la humanidad del futuro: como estandarte de la preservación del planeta en el marco de la conservación de la vida. Por ello se justifica la existencia de un Código de Ética en las Instituciones de Educación Superior, el cual puede servir de puente entre la formación ciudadana y el aprendizaje ético por intermedio de la acción universitaria. | English abstract | The Universities are facing new unthinkable challenges for the future of humanity at the present time: the lost of values is the mirror of the continuous degradation that society is suffering. The way how the educational institutions are facing this problem, which is considered as a structural problem in this paper, it could give dispassion according to the given answers in order to preserve the moral in the interior space, as long as gaining lost spaces in the individualistic struggle with reductionist pretentions, in its confrontations to the whole omnicollective with totalitarians and asphyxiating desires. Both extremes could be the reasons why the humanity can’t establish the civilized project at this moment, a project that started from the beginning of Modernity as the way to solve the ethical and moral problems of society. This is the reason why the Active Philosophy is considered in this paper as the way of action that is a contemporary characteristic of the university life, as a way of communication of one ethical that “permeates he Higher Education Institutions: that is why the ethical conceptions play an important role in the future life of humanity: as a seal of preservation of the planet in order to preserve life. An ethical code is justified in the Higher Educational Institutions; it could be a bridge between the education for the citizens and the learning ethic through the Active University. As a result of this, an ethical code should be based on three ethical foundations: under the Virtue, the Duty and the Dialogue Ethical.
