| English abstract | This work describes personal agreement in independent active sentences in Asurini of Xingu (Tupi-Guarani), with emphasis on the person hierarchy. This hierarchy in this language consists in the fact that one person acts upon another as follows: 1>2>3. In contexts where this hierarchy is operative, there exists a common morphology between possession and transitivity, in which the transitive verbs have their argument codified by the same pronominal elements as possessed nouns. In other words, in such cases the verbal argument is expressed by cliticized personal pronouns and receives the relational prefix R-, a morphology that is typical of possessed nouns in the language |
| Portuguese abstract | Este trabalho mostra como se dá a concordância de pessoa em sentenças independentes ativas na língua Asurini do Xingu, membro da família Tupi-Guarani, dando ênfase à hierarquia de pessoa na língua. Esse tipo de hierarquia consiste no fato de uma ou mais de uma apessoa(s) agir sobre outra(s): 1>2>3, quando opera essa hirarquia no Asurini do Xingu, surge uma morfologia comum entre posse e transitividade, pois os verbos transitivos têm seus argumentos codificados pelos mesmos elementos pronominais dos nomes possuídos, isto é, o argumento verbal é expresso por pronomes pessoais na função clítica e recebe o relacional R-, morfologia típica dos nomes possuídos na língua |
